Read to fight against illiteracy, to reduce poverty and to empowering children

“Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn anything about everything and everything about anything.” – Tomie dePaola

We should always remember that we are the lucky ones. The lucky ones that have access to basically any book we can dream of, to have access to it on paper/hard copy, and nowadays, on one of our many digital devices. And, on top of that, we are blessed to have had an education that allows us to read.

In many rural areas in Cameroon, we face a harsher reality. Children and youth, despite their enthusiasm like most kids of their age, have little access to all kinds of books, fiction and non‑fiction.

Books have the power to feed imagination, to ignite curiosity, to inspire, to fuel ambition to enrich and transform lives. Being unable to read a book deprives a child from the creativity and knowledge enhanced through reading, only further leading to poverty.

Support KondiKids in a book donation!

Let us know YOUR favorite children/adolescent book and help us buy it.

Whether it be fiction or non-fiction, the kids look forward to sharing your imagination.

Cameroun is a bilingual country (English and French), we welcome books in both languages but books in other languages are also appreciated!
